I met Joe at Kens house a couple of years ago. I took him to the Sorgham festival at McDaniels Crossroads. I will be thinking of him everytime I am around that area.

I just learned of Joe's passing. I recently spoke of Joe in conversation because of the East Carolina vs UNC football game a couple weeks ago. We lost contact after he retired, but I always held good memories of getting to know the southern gentleman he was, listening to him speak about the Civil War. I learned a great deal from Joe. I also will keep my memories of those Saturday's at ECU, we had to go to Parker's Barbeque to eat first, then over to tailgate, then go watch the game. God bless you Joe, my friend!!
